How to
TAP TAP
Resident Request.
- From a mobile phone added to the system, send an SMS to the intercom using the device/intercom cell number.
- In the message body, add the word: 'TAP' (for a single use one-time code), or 'TAP number ' (to allow for multiple entries and exits with the same code).
- Send the SMS.
- The resident/sender will receive the TAP code back via SMS.
- Forward the received SMS to the visitor/s.
TAPEX via Gate Open
- The visitor calls the resident via the intercom.
- The resident opens the gate by pressing the configured digit on the mobile phone.
- The intercom sends an SMS with a single exit code to the resident.
- On exit, the visitor enters the code on the TAP TAP keypad.
- Gate will open.
TAPEX via SMS
- From a mobile phone, send an SMS to the intercom using the device/intercom cell number.
- In the message body, add the word: 'TAPEX' (for a single use one-time code), or 'TAPEX number ' (to allow for multiple exits with the same code).
- Send the SMS.
- The resident will receive a TAPEX code via SMS.
- Forward the received SMS to the visitor/s.
Cancelling TAP TAP and TAPEX
- To disable all unused codes, SMS the words 'TAP cancel' or 'TAPEX cancel' to the intercom.
Visitor use
- A visitor arrives at the entrance or exit gate.
- Enters the 5 digit code on the Intercom or TAP TAP keypad.
- The gate will open.
TAP TAP codes must be used to enter before the code can be used for exit.
Activation
TAP TAP and TAPEX functionality must be enabled on the Comb Portal for this service to work. Depending on the settings applied, one or both of these features may not be enabled.Â
